Empowering young people to lead a productive and fulfilling life
Today’s young people are the future leaders and actors of our society yet many of them struggle to fulfill their dreams and aspirations. Youth in Thailand still have limited access to educational opportunities and lacking life skills, resulting to increased unemployment rate among youth ages 15-24 years old. In 2019, youth unemployment rate is at 3.65%, equivalent to 436,000 youths. As they lack relevant essential life skills such as decision-making, problem-solving and values-based life skills, they become vulnerable to alcohol, drug abuse and other vices. Some of them also face violence at home and school. Teen pregnancy is on the rise where in 2019, an average of six children per day were born to girls younger than 15 years old. These issues are hindering young people to thrive.
In collaboration with our partners, we create spaces so that youth can thrive, at home, school, and in the community. We enhance essential life skills, employability, financial capability, and livelihood for youth ages 18-24 years old, so that they can start their own future and contribute to their local community and wider society.
For 50 years, we’ve focused on providing young people vocational, technical and entrepreneurial skills
A training designed to equip young people with critical thinking, communication skills, problem solving, emotion management, relationship building and social responsibility. We involve parents and caregivers as part of the support system especially during the training.
A training designed to equip young people with agricultural or occupational skills. We provide training on savings, financial management and capital investment. We also design internship programme to link trained youths to partner agencies, institutions, business groups, and academe/universities for livelihood and scholarship opportunities.
An initiative equipping adolescents with leadership skills so they could best represent their communities, districts and provinces at the National Youth Conference and other national level structures. We organise Youth Councils in our programme areas to strengthen them to be functional with strong networks and partnerships with other Youth Councils so they can contribute to policy change, development and implementation with relevant institutions at provincial, regional and national levels.
With proper care and quality education, children will thrive and be able to make a difference to their community, protect themselves from violence and experience life in all its fullness.
World Vision supports children to have the best education although in the most challenging situation like COVID-19. Thanks to collaboration from parents, volunteers, and staff, these children have continued learning.
We won't stop fighting until every child is protected.
We address barriers to early childhood development by working with communities, volunteers, local authorities and local organisation network
